3 Day Cancer Walk
One day at a time - Short Stuff - Avon Breast Cancer 3-Day: walkathon to support breast cancer research "My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer when she was pregnant with me. She fought hard against the disease but died when I was 3." So says Jessica, now 11, who's participating in the Avon Breast Cancer 3-Day, a series of three-day, 60-mile fundraising walks. The 3-Day is no walk in the park. Participants have to train beforehand and raise at least $1,900 to enroll. Jessica's walking the 3-day with her stepmom and wearing a tee with her motto: "In memory of one mom. In support of another." Over 3,500 others will walk in 13 3-Days nationwide through October.
