Drinking beer may reduce your risk of colon cancer by up to 22%, according to a study published in the International Journal of Cancer. Researchers in Japan made the discovery after giving beer to a group of rats already in the early stages of colon-cancer development. In the study, the beer appeared to protect DNA against cellular damage, thereby slowing the growth of cancer cells.
