People: ABC News anchor Peter Jennings has lung cancer

Peter Jennings, the chief ABC News anchorman for more than 20 years, has been diagnosed with lung cancer and will begin outpatient treatment next week. Jennings, 66, said he would anchor the broadcast when he feels well enough after chemotherapy. Charles Gibson, who is in Rome for the Pope's funeral, and Elizabeth Vargas will stand in for Jennings.
