Electronic trade in Sweden a fraction of the total trade - study INTERNET BUSINESS NEWS-(C)1995-2004 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
Statistics show that most Swedes who own an Internet connection use the Internet for shopping at least occasionally with only 12% claiming never to use the Internet for shopping.
The trade is however held back by uncertainty over payments and consumer rights, reports Computer Sweden.
According to a study carried out by Demoskop for Computer Sweden, 77% of Swedes shop online every year while 23% shop online every month. The results however also showed that about half of those who shop online prefer traditional means of payments such as a mailed bill while 26% prefer to give the payment card number and 23% prefer to make a direct bank transfer from their online banking system.
The online trade in Sweden is reportedly only a fraction of the total trade with 76% of those who claim they never shop online saying that they prefer to physically go around a store.
