Drug Neurontin
Epilepsy drug Neurontin is the subject of a lawsuit against Pfizer and its subsidiary Parke-Davis - Legal News in Brief - Brief Article * Epilepsy drug Neurontin is the subject of a lawsuit against Pfizer and its subsidiary Parke-Davis. A coalition of consumer and public interest groups is accusing the pharmaceutical companies of circumventing FDA regulations to promote scientifically unproven "off-label" use of Neurontin. The suit was filed Feb. 3, 2003, by Community Catalyst's Prescription Access Litigation (PAL) project on behalf of CALPIRG, the Congress of California Seniors, and US Action. The suit alleges that the company promoted the use of Neurontin for 13 separate conditions, including migraines, bipolar disorder, and restless leg syndrome, even though Neurontin was approved only for epilepsy.
