Bartell selects online drug reference SEATTLE -- Bartell Drugs has selected the Web-based drug and clinical reference ePocrates Rx Online for its 52-store Seattle-based drug chain.
The application takes ePocrates hand-held clinical reference suite to the desktop via the Web, enabling users to access ePocrates reference of more than 3,000 prescription medications and the Multicheck feature, which allows users to check for drug interactions among 50 drugs. The online application includes features such as a pill picture database, information about drugs in the ePocrates reference, MedCalc tools with hundreds of medical equations, clinical criteria and decision trees.
"Many pharmacists have hand-helds, and we are using them at work," said Don Connolly, assistant vice president of pharmacy for Bartell. The desktop allows them to print out ePocrates. It's an efficient reference source, and it's easy to load on our intranet."
