DrSN, CVS fete special issue - News - Drug Store News - CVS H.C. Inc - Brief Article PROVIDENCE -- Drug Store News and CVS played host to almost 60 members of the supplier community at a Nov. 4 reception here at the Providence Oyster House to celebrate the Oct. 21 issue of Drug Store News, which included a special 57-page section on CVS.
CVS chairman, president and chief executive officer Tom Ryan noted that CVS was honored that the issue focused on the chain's 110,000 associates and the work done throughout the chain toward its goal of becoming the easiest drug chain for customers to shop. Drug Store News publisher John Kenlon presented a $10,000 donation on behalf of CVS to the ALS Association, which funds research for a cure for Lou Gehrig's disease. The charity was chosen to honor John Finneran, a long-time CVS veteran-who most recently served as a manager for special operations-related projects-who battles the disease. Finneran retired from the company last month.
