Chain execs tapped for state boards - state boards of pharmacy - Brief Article LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Chain pharmacy is making new inroads in its bid for higher representation on state boards of pharmacy, with several states naming or reappointing chain members in recent weeks.
In Arkansas, Bob DuFour, director of managed care and professional services for Wal-Mart Stores, was named to the state board. John Beckner, director of pharmacy for Richmond, Va.-based Ukrop's Super Markets, has been tapped to begin a four-year term on the Virginia Board of Pharmacy. And Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty has reappointed Walgreens pharmacist Vern Kassekert to a second four-year term with the state board.
In another significant move, National Association of Chain Drug Stores senior vice president and chief counsel Larry Kocot has been appointed vice chairman of the Virginia Commonwealth Health Research Board, replacing new chairman Dr. Robert P. McBride III. The board provides grant binding for research to improve health services and the delivery of health care.
