NeighborCare to purchase pharmacyBALTIMORE - NeighborCare, a subsidiary of Genesis Health Ventures, has signed an agreement to purchase the assets of the Naperville, Ill.-based pharmacy provider American Pharmaceutical Services (APS). The purchase price for APS: about $42 million plus up to $18 million in deferred payments based on performance. The sale, however, is subject to several conditions, including U.S. Bankruptcy Court approval of an overbidding procedure, a competitive bidding process and final court approval of the prevailing bid in the Chapter 11 cases of APS's subsidiaries.
